Edward Peter Lustig

Ed Lustig is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Laws Degree. After articling for the General Counsel of the Toronto Transit Commission, he was called to the Bar with First Class Honours in 1975.

Ed joined the Legal Department of the City of Niagara Falls in April of 1975 and worked as City Solicitor until June of 1990. As City Solicitor he was responsible for managing the legal affairs of the City of Niagara Falls. In June 1990, he was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the City with responsibility for overall management of all departments of the City. He retired from this position in 2002.

In February of 2002, the City of Niagara Falls together with the Niagara Parks Commission, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Falls Management Company engaged Ed to direct the development of a proposed new transportation system to link the various attractions within Niagara Falls and the Niagara Parks’ Queen Victoria Park. He joined Broderick & Partners as counsel on January 1st, 2006 and carries on a general law practice with particular emphasis on municipal law, planning and development matters, commercial and real estate law and related litigation.

Ed has been a Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association since 1975 and hastaught law courses at Niagara College. He is also a Member of the American Public Transportation Association and is a Director on the Board of Directors of the Niagara Health System Foundation.

Marc DiGirolamo

Robert Burns

Robert Burns was called to the Ontario bar in 1994 and practices in the area of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on personal injury and insurance claims, estate litigation and employment law disputes.

Mr. Burns also has developed an expertise in defamation law and has represented large multi-national corporations in complex business libel claims. He also advises other lawyers in the conduct of their defamation cases.

Mr. Burns graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1989, received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1992 and his Masters of Law degree in Media and Communications Law from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia in 1995. Italia Maria Gilberti

Italia Maria Gilberti was born in Montreal, Quebec, and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from McMaster University in 1987. She attended law school at L’Ecole de Droit, L’Universite de Moncton, where she studied common law in French. She has been a Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1992 when she received her call to the Bar.

Italia is fluent in Italian and French. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Welland County Bar Association and Niagara Falls Bar Association where she also served a term as Secretary-Treasurer.

Her practice includes finance, corporate and commercial law, commercial and residential real estate, municipal law, land development, wills and estates. Italia has been instrumental in obtaining approvals for many of the high-rise hotels and other tourist commercial related establishments recently built or currently under construction in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Italia has served as Director of the Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation and Director of the Regional Niagara Health Board Council. Italia has also served as a Director of Club Italia, Order of Sons of Italy and has been a member since 1990. She was also a member of the highly successful fund-raising team for the Niagara Falls Community Centre. Italia also served diligently as a Commissioner of the Niagara Parks Commission for over four years.

George A. Kirkham

George A. Kirkham obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario at London in 1973 and his Bachelor of Law from the University of Toronto in 1976. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1978 and has practised law in the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario since that time.

George practices primarily in the area of civil litigation with a substantial focus on matrimonial law including divorce, separation, custody and access, division of property and related matters. As an adjunct to his family practice, he offers legal services to his clients in the areas of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estates and residential real estate matters.

A separate part of his practice of law included his designation as an Agent for Federal Prosecutions in the Niagara Region for eight years. This position included the prosecution of persons charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (narcotics), the Income Tax Act, the Customs Act and various other Federal Statutes. As a part of his continuing practice, George provides advice and representation to clients regarding issues arising our of those Statutes.

Within the community George has served as President of the Niagara Falls Family Y.M.C.A. and is a Past President of the Niagara Falls Bar Association. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and continues as a member of the Area Committee for Legal Aid, Niagara South, a position he has held since 1984.

John B. Hopkins

William Amadio, B.A., LL.B.

For Bill Amadio, Niagara Falls, Ontario is his home town. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in economics, from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He attended the University of Ottawa Law School where he was a student editor of the Ottawa Law Review and the President of the Law Student’s Society. He was called to the Bar in 1972.

Bill is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and past member of Council of the Ontario Bar Association. He is also a longstanding member of the Advocates Society. Other service to the legal profession include a term as President of both the Welland County Bar Association and the Niagara Falls Bar Association.

Bill has been active in the Community. He is the past Chairman of the Welland County Roman Catholic Separate School Board, a past Director of the Chamber of Commerce and has sat on the Niagara Falls Business and Industrial Growth Agency. Bill is a past Director of the United Way and has twice co-chaired its annual fund raising campaign.
