Ms. Webb was called to the bar in 2008, after articling with prominent criminal defence lawyer Alan Gold in Toronto where she assisted in matters of varying complexity including trials, appeals, and extradition proceedings.

She then went on to work as staff duty counsel at the busy Brampton courthouse before joining Adler Bytensky Prutschi as an associate.

Even in her early undergraduate studies Ms. Shikhman worked extensively with an experienced criminal defence lawyer in Toronto, gaining valuable exposure to criminal defence work at all levels of Court. Once in law school Ms. Shikhman continued to indulge her passionate interest in criminal law as a summer student with two prominent criminal defence firms in Toronto where she worked on cases ranging from minor violations to the most serious crimes in the Criminal Code.

Ms. Shikhman articled at Adler Bytensky Prutschi and joined the firm as an associate in 2007. Ms. Shikhman manages a large roster of cases spanning all areas of the Criminal Code while also being involved with significant work supporting complex cases lead by partners of the firm. Ms. Shikhman is fluent in Russian and proficient in Ukranian and is a frequent guest on the Russian television show, MIX TV, where she provides legal commentary on criminal law issues in the public eye. She has also worked on a number of high profile cases and developed an expertise in the area of impaired driving where several of her cases are cited as precedent and was admitted to the partnership in 2011.

In Jan. 2011, Ms. Shikhman participated as a Judge in the Ukrainian national rounds of the presitigious Jessup Moot.

Not content to put his considerable talents to work only for the crown, Mr. Morische spent his final year at Osgoode Hall as a Division Leader in the Criminal Law Section of the school’s Community Legal Assistance Program (CLASP) where he began his practice as a defence lawyer. Mr. Morische then articled for a senior criminal lawyer in Toronto before joining Adler Bytensky Prutschi as an associate.

In addition to his impressive legal credentials, Mr. Morische holds the rank of Captain in the reserves of the Canadian Forces where he serves as in infantry officer with the 48th Highlanders of Canada.

Mr. Morische returned to the firm in Jan. 2011 after an extended leave during which he participated in active combat duty with the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan.

At Osgoode, Mr. Prutschi participated in the Intensive Program in Criminal Law, clerking for Mr. Justice Victor Paisley of the Superior Court of Justice. After articling for the law firm of Goodman Philips & Vineberg (now Goodmans, LLP), Mr. Prutschi started his own practice focused on criminal and quasi-criminal litigation, eventually teaming up with Leo Adler and Boris Bytensky to form the boutique firm of Adler Bytensky Prutschi.

Mr. Prutschi appears routinely before all levels of court in Ontario including the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He is a former faculty member for the Criminal Law course at the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course where he has instructed law school graduates in criminal procedure prior to their admission to the profession. Mr. Prutschi has also been sought after as a guest speaker in the area of criminal law providing recent addresses to the Ontario Camping Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Toronto Construction Association, and Osgoode Hall Law School.

Mr. Prutschi is also a certified Intoxilyzer Breath Alcohol Technician – a designation that can come in very handy when defending persons charged with impaired driving related offences. He is a frequent legal analyst on radio and television and has been quoted in major Toronto and area newspapers for his views on high-profile cases he has worked on and the criminal law in general.

When not vigorously defending the interests of his clients, Mr. Prutschi, a former Governor of York University, can be found protecting the interests of his community through his active participation on the boards and committees of numerous organizations. Mr. Prutschi was appointed as Legal Representative to the Research Ethics Board of North York General Hospital and writes a monthly travel column for Precedent Magazine under the moniker, The Crime Traveller.

He is also an active member of several professional organizations including the Criminal Lawyers’ Association where he serves as the Association’s representative to the Metro North and Metro West courthouses.

In addition to the guidance and experience he brings to Adler Bytensky Prutschi, Mr. Bytensky is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law for Osgoode Hall Law School’s Trial Practice course, a guest lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School’s Intensive Program in Criminal Law, and is retained from time to time to conduct prosecutions on behalf of the Ministry of the Attorney General. Mr. Bytensky has been quoted frequently both in print and television media regarding many of his own high-profile cases while also being called upon to provide insight and commentary on other cases of interest to the press. He is a three-time past President of the Downsview Community Legal Services legal aid clinic.

A long time member of the Ontario Criminal Lawyers Association (CLA), Mr. Bytensky currently serves on the CLA’s seven member executive. He is also the CLA’s representative to the Toronto North Courthouse. His guest speaker credits include addresses to Ontario’s Duty Counsel lawyers, the Hamilton Criminal Lawyers Association, several police divisions of the Toronto Police Service, and various high schools in Toronto.

Leo Adler was born on April 8, 1947. He is married, as are his son and daughter. He is a grandfather to several grandchildren.

Mr. Adler graduated law school in 1973 and articled for the firm of Robertson, Lane, Frankish, Perrett and Estey. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1975, and practiced briefly with Goodman and Carr before opening his own law firm, now known as Adler Bytensky Prutschi.

While Mr. Adler’s practice is almost exclusively criminal, he has also appeared before various boards and tribunals and at inquests. He has been retained or consulted in all types of cases. He has acted as counsel in extradition matters, trials and administrative and quasi-criminal hearings throughout Ontario, as well as in Quebec, Manitoba, New Brunswick, the Northwest Territories, Alberta and British Columbia, right up to the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Adler has represented individuals arrested or wanted in Europe or the U.S. His advice has been sought out in numerous other instances. Mr. Adler’s experience in DNA cases and other forensic issues has caused him to be consulted by other counsel for these and other legal issues. Several of his cases have been reported as legal precedents including R. Rohde, R. v. Fawthrop, and Fingland v. Ontario (Transportation).

Yan is fluently bilingual in English and Chinese. She has a wide, international, and cultured perspective on the world, with family roots in China and secondary education in Britain. In the summers of law school, Yan did her mini-pupilage with a prestigious Barrister Chambers in Lincoln’s Inn, England and an internship with a national firm in Beijing, China.

Yan is currently a member of Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association. She is also a member of Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.

Guillermo is the immediate Past-President of the Hispanic Ontario Lawyers Association (HOLA) and a former Vice-President of the Toronto Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (THCC). He is the current Secretary of the Ontario Bar Association’s (OBA) Civil Litigation Section Executive and the Chair of the OBA’s Young Lawyers’ Division-Central. In addition, he sits on the OBA Board of Directors and OBA Council.

Guillermo is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mr. Hodder’s expertise is in Civil Litigation. In 1996, he was certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in this area. Mr. Hodder has also written poetry, short stories and journalistic articles.
